Aries Industries: Over 40 Years of Innovation

1960s

The Beginning

The origins of Aries Industries begin when founder Bob Christy who started experimenting with 8mm movie cameras and developed a method for capturing images inside underground sewer pipes.

This innovation led to the creation of Photo Inspection Corporation (PIC), one of the earliest sewer inspection service companies in North America.

1970s-1980s

Building the Foundation

As municipalities increasingly recognized the value of pipeline inspection, the technologies and expertise developed through PIC laid the groundwork for a manufacturing company focused on underground infrastructure inspection.

1985

Aries Industries Founded

Aries Industries is officially established in Waukesha, Wisconsin, with a mission to develop innovative inspection equipment for the underground infrastructure industry.

1989

First Color Camera

The company launches its first color camera, providing operators with improved image quality and diagnostic capabilities.

Early 1990s

Expansion into Rehabilitation

Aries broadens its offerings with the introduction of a grouting system, expanding beyond inspection into rehabilitation solutions.

1994

GasCam

Development of GasCam technology expands Aries' inspection capabilities into specialized applications.

1998

LETS® Introduced

The Lateral Evaluation Television System (LETS®) is introduced, becoming one of the industry's leading lateral inspection platforms.

2007

Pathfinder® Debuts

Aries launches the Pathfinder® inspection system, which would become one of the company's flagship platforms.

ATV Box Introduced

Additional mobility solutions provide contractors with greater flexibility in the field.

2010

Supporting the Chilean Miners Rescue

Aries technology gains international recognition when an Aries camera system is selected for use during the rescue of 33 trapped miners in Copiapó, Chile. The camera provided critical visual communication between rescuers and miners nearly half a mile underground.

With headquarters in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and operations in Fresno, California, and Toronto, Ontario, Aries Industries continues to design and manufacture industry-leading pipeline video inspection, rehabilitation equipment and fully-outfitted trucks. More than four decades after its founding—and with roots dating back to the 1960s—the company remains committed to its guiding principle: solving customer challenges through innovation and continuing to raise the bar underground.
